Welcome to the Broom Village web site

Welcome to the Broom Village website. to book our modern village hall, please go to the Broom Village Hall page.

Broom is a small village in the parish of Bidford on Avon, not far from the Vale of Evesham. Having a population of around 430 it is a compact little village with a mixture of ancient and modern dwellings, some of them dating from the 16th century. The earliest of these is said to be the Broom Tavern, which was originally built as a farmhouse. With it's timber framing and red brick in-fill, this building when floodlit, makes an impressive site in the centre of the village. Another old building is The Broom Hall Inn, also built as a farmhouse and dated 1577.

The village lies close to the banks of the River Arrow, which flows on for another 2 miles before it joins the delightful River Avon.

Broom is one of the villages mentioned in the verse by William Shakespeare. This is "Beggarly Broom", though anyone walking around the village these days will find this hard to believe.
